BlumbergExcelsior Consolidates to Concentrate On Core Legal Products and Services
NEW YORK, NY—July 07, 2008— BlumbergExcelsior Inc., the nation’s premier provider of specialized legal products and corporate services, announced today that the company will consolidate operations in New York, with a renewed focus on its distinctive core product lines. In the process, the company will close its branches in Texas and Florida and eliminate its graphics line—letterhead, announcements, and business cards—transferring that portion of the business to two of the nation’s top printers, Stuart F. Cooper and PreciseContinental.
“We wanted to be 100% sure that the needs of our graphics customers would be met,” stated Robert Blumberg, President and CEO of the third-generation family business, “and both of these companies are known for their meticulous quality and superb customer service. I know the principals of both companies, and they are as committed as I am to a smooth transition. I have every confidence that our customers will be well-served.”
“This consolidation affects only our graphics lines,” Blumberg emphasized. “All our other lines will remain intact.” Close to 70% of the company’s workforce will stay on after the consolidation.
BlumbergExcelsior, while steeped in legal tradition, has in recent years helped to lead attorneys and their staffs into the electronic age. The famed Blumberg Forms, long respected by courts and attorneys and used in countless legal transactions, are now available online (blumberglegalforms.com), as is Blumberg’s entire catalog, the leading legal supply catalog. Like the catalog, the Blumberg website (blumberg.com) serves as a trusted “one-stop-shop” for such law office essentials as: * Corporate Services
- Corporate kits (including LLC and LP kits)
- Legal forms, including legal online applications and software
- Legal imprints: covers, will stationery, address labels and business envelopes
- Legal marketing products and services
- Specialized law office products: binders, expandable files, papers, pads, folders
- Patent and trademark folders
With the company’s restructuring, electronic applications will accelerate. Online LLC and incorporation filings are already being expanded and the company has recently implemented online probate filing for New York. Also just released is Blazer 3.0, a complete legal forms management system that integrates Blumberg forms, other forms from the internet and forms on law firms’ computers.
“For the past 121 years,” Blumberg stated, “our company has maintained a steadfast commitment to the unique needs of the legal community. It was a thorough review of how to best serve those needs that led to this restructuring. Transferring the graphic lines and consolidating operations allows us to expand our historic lines and explore new and innovative ways, technological and otherwise, to improve law office processes and help attorneys increase their productivity.”
